Most people now use a pendrive to install Windows.
Why? Because many laptops don’t have DVD drives.
Also, DVDs are slow.
A pendrive is fast and easy.

Let’s learn how to do it in just 4 simple steps!


💡 What You Need

You only need 3 things:

  • A pendrive (at least 8GB)
  • An ISO file (Windows or other OS)
  • A tool called Rufus

🔹 Step 1: Format Your Pendrive

  1. Plug the pendrive into your PC
  2. Open “This PC”
  3. Right-click the pendrive
  4. Click “Format”
  5. Pick FAT32 or NTFS
  6. Click “Start”

Now it’s ready!


🔹 Step 2: Download the ISO File

An ISO file is like a digital disc.
You need it to install the system.

Where to get one:

  • Windows: Go to Microsoft.com
  • Ubuntu: ubuntu.com
  • Linux Mint: linuxmint.com
  • macOS: Use the Mac App Store

🔹 Step 3: Download Rufus

Rufus helps you make the pendrive bootable.

  1. Go to [rufus.ie]
  2. Download it
  3. Open the app

That’s it!


💾 Use Rufus to Make It Bootable

  1. Open Rufus
  2. It will show your pendrive
  3. Click “Select” and pick your ISO file
  4. Choose FAT32 or NTFS
  5. Click “Start”
  6. Wait a few minutes

You’re done!


🔹 Step 4: Test the Pendrive

  1. Restart your PC
  2. Press Delete, F2, or Esc to open BIOS
  3. Go to Boot Menu
  4. Pick your pendrive
  5. It will now install Windows
